Has anyone seen the current exhibition at the Victoria Gallery in Bath?
I went over the weekend and there is an exhibition by John Eaves and other similar style artists.
Still can't understand why work that appears to have not much in the way of technical skill sells for such large amounts of money (upwards of £800) some costing £1800 upwards.
My fiance said it looked like something primary school kids would do! (brightly coloured collage). Yes they are aesthetically beautiful to look at, but no matter how much I read up on the work, or understand the creative processes behind the work, I still can't understand why someone would pay so much for it when it would be simple to produce a similar effect yourself with acrylic paint and some torn up paper. Maybe I'm missing something?
