After reading that all artists should attempt to paint the naked form.I decided to attempt to paint a female nude. When the model arrived, she seemed to be very nervous and ill at ease.Being a gentleman,I thought the chivalrous thing to do was to remove my clothing as well. After removing my clothes and starting to paint all hell seemed to break loose. The other artists at the life class thought it was not at all appropriate. There were comments like"I've never seen one like that before"and"he'll have someones eye out". I've not had so much pointing and laughter since my wedding night! I tried to justify my actions, but it all fell on deaf ears and I was forcibly ejected.Like the P.O.L gallery there seem to be a lot of unwriten laws we artists have to obey.I would be greatfull for any advice Also during my eviction I managed to get paint in a very tender area and would appreciate any advice on its removal. My wife Max says, she will go at it with a scrubbing brush and it would teach me a good lesson.I'm not sure I'd like that! I may just photograph the area and post it on my gallery as a collage in the stile of Lucian Freud.. I will be greatfull for any helpfull advice.. Steve. (lol)
