I placed an order with Ken Bromley Art recently for some paper so when the postman came this morning whilst I was in bed after night work I assumed it was that, felt warm and went to sleep. When I opened the box I found a stash of goodies that beggars belief: two collections of what look like brand new brushes - more than enough to enable me to try probably any water colour discipline I wish to - and about 50 brand new tubes of paint together with a small library of books on the subject to help me learn. The only reference on the box is where it says "sender's instructions" it says "surprise". Well, it is a surprise and it is amazingly generous of whoever sent it. I ASSUME the send is a POL benefactor, so thank you, thank you and triple thank you. As you will have detected, whilst my art is not very good I do find it enjoyable. My first water colour class starts in an hour! I really don't know who sent me the gift but thank you very much; it will be used as wisely as I am able and I hope you see the improvement in my work as time goes by: I hope you enjoy the part you played in that! Thank you. David
Some gift, how nice. Enjoy the lesson and hope to meet you nextr week.
Whoopee how lovely. Have BIG fun.
Had my first lesson then. Amazingly I now have three paintings going up in the groups exhibition in Salisbury Hospital. I am under no illusion that this is because they in absolute terms "good" but because it is recognition that they are "good enough". I am delighted...such encouragement! Thanks All. D
