I placed an order with Ken Bromley Art recently for some paper so when the postman came this morning whilst I was in bed after night work I assumed it was that, felt warm and went to sleep.
When I opened the box I found a stash of goodies that beggars belief: two collections of what look like brand new brushes - more than enough to enable me to try probably any water colour discipline I wish to - and about 50 brand new tubes of paint together with a small library of books on the subject to help me learn.
The only reference on the box is where it says "sender's instructions" it says "surprise".
Well, it is a surprise and it is amazingly generous of whoever sent it. I ASSUME the send is a POL benefactor, so thank you, thank you and triple thank you. As you will have detected, whilst my art is not very good I do find it enjoyable. My first water colour class starts in an hour!
I really don't know who sent me the gift but thank you very much; it will be used as wisely as I am able and I hope you see the improvement in my work as time goes by: I hope you enjoy the part you played in that!
Thank you.

Had my first lesson then. Amazingly I now have three paintings going up in the groups exhibition in Salisbury Hospital. I am under no illusion that this is because they in absolute terms "good" but because it is recognition that they are "good enough". I am delighted...such encouragement!
Thanks All.
