Good luck, Adele from the lady you have been encouraging not to give up on pastels and portraits. Thank you. You are an inspiration. I look forward to tracking your journey.
Thank you Bob and Dawn. I am not sure about the wonderful paintings Bob, mainly because I am starting from scratch! But I am up for it. Dawn, you helped me make up my mind as it was you I was advising when I suddenly have my epiphany! So thank you. And after your earlier posting about commenting - see how useful it is!
So these are my first "daubings". Obviously I wasn't kidding when I said I had to start from scratch. I have been learning glazing and lifting. Glazing isn't too bad but am having a spot of bother with the lifting. Will have to watch the edges also and it doesn't help that I have a naturally shaky hand. Have decided to do the first part of Billy's Hellebore project and do however many petals it takes to get the first two techniques under my belt. Have put this on the gallery also as I don't see why just the Forum members have to suffer, plus it may encourage new artists to upload their paintings if they think their work is not good enough! Feel free to critique or advise if you wish, my ego is not fragile.
Best of luck my friend I used to be afraid to paint flowers in my earlier years painting watercolour until I realised they were just shapes and colour 😊 the greatest art lesson I ever learned was realising that every subject is just a variety of different coloured shapes placed together now I'm just a shape painter , it makes the process so easy when one learns to see and paint this way . I hope you enjoy the experience and I've no doubt you will turn out some beauties 👌😊 One of my watercolours of flowers just to get you in the mood 👌🎨
Thank you Splosh and Dermot. No doubt frustrating times ahead! Will put up my daubings from time to time so you can always have a laugh when your own art is not going too well!
