I've realized for a while now that relatively few POL-ers paint in oil; when I say oil, I mean real oil, not the various water-soluble brands (nothing against them, nothing for them - but they're just not the same). Some of course can't use oil - skin reactions, breathing problems, ensue. These are generally caused by the solvents rather than the paint, but one or two unfortunate people react even to the Linseed or Safflower oil in the paint: as a matter of interest to those few: do you react the same way to the water-solubles, like Artisan? If not, it's much more likely to be the solvent you're using, the mineral spirit or turps, than the paint itself. But for those who don't have specific allergies or reactions, so far as they know anyway, and avoid oil - why? Do you fear what Bloodaxe describes elsewhere as the "dark mysteries", just not like the look of oil paint, don't like the mess, don't have the room (you couldn't easily have less than I have), think they'll be too difficult.... you don't have to have a reason at all, obviously! But if you do - tell Uncle Robert.....
