I am currently illustrating a book celebrating 25 years of the Premier League. Here is a sneak preview of some of the football caricatures that may make it into the book, to see more please check out my website www.caricaturewithattitude.me

Written by my friend, and Blackburn Rovers fan, Steve Marsh, the book aims to pay homage to those who have graced (and at times have disgraced) what is regarded as the biggest, richest, most compelling league in the world.
We believe we have a great product, English football has never been so popular. Steve writing is first class, it is well researched and beautifully describes the characters that have driven the sport to new heights over the last two decades. I believe my artwork works perfectly with Steven's pro's.
Alas , despite our best efforts, we still don't have a publishing deal. Does anyone out their see some potential in our book? Or can anyone offer us some advice on where to go now or on self publishing?

What I know about publishing Chrisk12 can be written down the edge of a postage stamp. But have you thought about approaching a "football magazine" if there is such a thing, sorry I don't know much about football either. A magazine may be interested in a series of stories. However, your artwork looks fun.

If you cannot get a publishing deal why not try self publishing. You caricatures are great, but I feel Ronaldo's head needs to be a bit bigger...no a lot bigger, it just might fit his ego, then.
But I must say lovely work, and a treat to see :)
You'll have a good response about publishing your work on the, writers - online.co.uk, many writers have self publish on that site, very friendly, very helpful and all the very best with the book.

Hiya, you can easily self-publish. Alas, best way to do so is through amazon and in their case, they do expect to take quite a margin, however there are other places you can do so. The writer should however first find a good editor! People moan about lack of good editing a lot. If you publish this as e-book to start with, your expense will be lower, you can start with limited edition book and see how that goes and print less expensive version in paperback on cheaper paper afterwards. I personally download several mags (the artist included) and all comics into my tablet, so I do not buy physical books anymore unless it is the only option ;-)
In case you choose amazon, make sure you read through all options!!! There are quite a few and you will need to do some serious maths to consider.
Other option might be to check other sport related books available and their publishers. Make the best possible presentation of the whole first as accompanying letter doesn´t do as much anymore these days for anything but novels- but even those are mostly self published these days as it is so easy to do.

There are options in self-publishing too; a friend of mine set up her own publishing company, which is apparently better than using the vanity press route because people will take you more seriously if you have a publisher. Resellers will also prefer to deal with a publisher rather than individual authors.
How many publishers have you approached? If the answer to that s "less than 100" then you've not really started.
However, I suspect the FA might already have such an Official book in preparation, and publishers will be fighting each other to get hold of that one. I do wish you luck.

How big is your email list?
Consider finding a local printer to make a test run of soft covers...100 copies if possible or fewer!
Add a cart & Paypal to your website...advertise shamelessly.
ISBN will cost you dearly
Only use Amazon after your test marketing confirms that you have a market...what you think is a winner may be a chicken.
