A bit of a broken down Mother's Day this year. Our son and family arrived this morning, they all stayed half-way down our front path. He gave my wife some chocolates and a card.
I thought I'd post the card here...although it's not really art. The picture of my wife is from a couple of years back when our grandsons were always taking pictures.
So best wishes to all you Mums missing your families in these troubled times.
Here's the card...a bit rude but it made us laugh.

Thanks for the laugh Lew, same here my son and daughter in law stood outside door yesterday to hand over card and pressie, strange, I just wanted to give them a big hug!! and flowers arrived this morning on doorstep from my daughter. That made me cry!! It made me think there are lots of old people out there that this is what life is like all the time for them.

Very good point Linda. I always speak to people when I’m out, especially if they are on their own, as I think I might be the only person they speak to that day.
I asked my girls for art vouchers rather than anything physical, so looking forward to a spending and topping up session!
I saw my eldest For a chat over the garden wall yesterday, didn’t go in, and the youngest is in London so phone only. All very bizarre and a bit sad.
Hope you can have a good day all you mums. Wicked card Lew! Trust you. x

I’m not a mother myself but on Mother’s Day I would make extra fuss over my mums special day. She would miss the fuss and attention I know, as will lots of mums of all ages out there today.
So, here’s a tribute to all mums out there that have missed their kisses and cuddles....
As years ago we carried to your knees
The tales and treasures of eventful days,
Knowing no deed too humble for your praise,
Nor any gift too trivial to please,
So still we bring, with older smiles and tears,
What gifts we may, to claim the old, dear right;
Your faith, beyond the silence and the night,
Your love still close and watching through the years.

Have a lovely day Mum’s and what a great thread to start Lewis.
