Had the delight today of our 8yr old painting at my easel, with the whole array of my acrylic colours at her whim on a stay wet palette today and what a joy.. It is half term so after a long session in the swimming pool this morning, I decided on a quiet time. Decked her out with an old tee-shirt, on a stool and a new piece of paper from an acrylic pad. Gave her a 1" flat and a filbert and let her loose Initially she copied the Owl painting I recently finished and made a damn good job of it and I emailed it with her proudly displaying it to her mum. Then she wanted a Halloween based painting, using her imagination and another little gem appeared. She has signed them both but the latter is too sticky wet to take home, so she will tomorrow. Great times. Keep promoting your ankle biters, you never know what skills are there.
Do we get to have a peek?
OK here they are and thanks for asking
Brilliant! She looks the part, and her painting is very good. Get her name down for the Slade now......
Just so enjoying herself. Tell her I think her pic is brilliant and if she keeps at it she will be as good as her Grand papa one day soon.
Cheers Robert and Sylvia. I purposely left things as I have except for the board being lower, to make her work long handed with the brush and applying the marks. Her mum has commened that I could have combed her hair!! She had been swimming so wasn't properly dry - wimmin!!!!
Thjanks Syd, wrong place mate.
