I feel like I am forever asking questions, here's another one, i hope you don't mind...
I find canvas board a good surface to work on, and easier than stretched canvas to handle and work on in my little shop. My question is about framing it.
I am assuming that with it being acrylics it doesn't need glass? and therefor you could simply buy a ready made frame, remove the glass and put the board in its place, using the original backing board to hold it in place. Would that me a correct assumption? :D
However, if you wanting to mount it before putting it in a frame, is there one specific method or several? google is not being that helpful. I was wondering if you could simply attached it to the back of the pre-cut mount with gummed brown paper tape and then follow the method above? I'm not sure if that would only work for a short time though and then start to give?
This is not because I am planning to frame them myself necessarily. I may. But I want to be able to advise someone that might buy one of them in case they ask.
Thanks in advance, Lucy

Hi Lucy. I never used a mount on my canvas boards. I don't think I have ever seen a mount used on this support. Mounts, as far as I am aware, are normally used with paintings made on paper. However that aside, I didn't use glass but instead varnished the board. Now I am not sure if it is ok to leave an acrylic painting unvarnished as I never tried it, so perhaps somebody here can answer that question for you. Do make sure, however that the frame has a deep enough recess to hold the canvas board as, of course, it is thicker than paper.
