Come on - the forum’s getting a bit boring lately so how about this. Apart from drawing I stick rigidly to watercolours and will do so, no doubt, until I have mastered the medium. I guess this means I ‘m stuck with it. However I do try to paint a variety of subjects and use a number of techniques. It’s not for me to say I succeed but I do try.
There are others who stick quite rigidly to the same style and the same subject - in other words they become what some may describe as formula painters churning out a stream of cloned paintings.
Many of the successful artists in the fine art galleries (in fact most of them!) paint to a formula so should we knock it? Some of the great masters work is instantly recognisable
I have no strong views one way or the other but would like to hear what others may think.
