This is HARD 8-)
I took a look at the photo, thought: 'Nice pic, should be easy enough to do a painted version'. I was wrong. How are other people doing? I've noticed a few posted to the gallery, some of which are excellent. The pose is simple enough, but capturing a likeness of someone you don't know based on just one photo is problematic. Then there's Terry's fingers. Could miss them out, of course, but then where would his arm go? Better to keep them in. Or maybe not. And that suit is VERY dark. Needs some highlights, but where? And what about the background? I've tried various different colours; none of which are working yet. Luckily I'm working in acrylic so can keep over-painting. The people who have done this in watercolour have my unbounded admiration.
Tricky, tricky, tricky. I will keep trying.
