I thought it would be interesting to compile a list of artists favourite quotations. I'll start the ball rolling with one which I've laminated and mounted above my workstation in the studio.
It comes from Tennyson's 'Ulysses' and reads : Some work of noble note may yet be done.
Well I live in hope!
There must be dozens out there so come on everyone.....

"They couldn't hit an elephant at this dist..." - apparently some military chap during the Boer wars.
"Resistance is useless" - the Vogon guard just before Arthur Dent and Ford Prefect were ejected into space.
"There has to be a better way of making money" - Me, 2016, right after a student failed to show for a lesson and several times since.

I have a book full of my minimalist line drawings which I have titled 'Simplifying Form' . It has a couple of quotes on the front page which many might also find applicable to their approach to art.
They are:
'There is no greatness where there is no simplicity (goodness and truth) '...Tolstoy
Technical skill is mastery of complexity, creativity is the mastery of simplicity'...Christopher Zeeman
