EU VAT reform...bad news

For those who sell paintings online, I think this article in the Telegraph needs reading. At the moment it's about the sale of digital products online; but read on down and by 2016 it'll be about physical products as well. Even if you sell just a few pics per year, you'll have to register for VAT, because the EU is removing the tax-level exemptions. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/internet/11295953/How-the-EU-is-throttling-online-business-with-idiotic-VAT-reform.html If this goes through, we could be looking at the end of online galleries and the small-scale artist. How many artists who are just about on hobby-sales level really want to start keeping VAT records? I'll leave this open for comments, I'm still investigating the ins and outs of it.
