Occasionally someone posts an image which has not come out the right way up (I've just commented on one which really caught my eye, suggesting it be re-posted if possible). Some devices for whatever reason occasionally invert the image or rotate it sideways (my tablet does this sometimes but I send the photo to my computer before uploading). Can a photo be edited to correct this once it has been uploaded? I haven't seen that you can but perhaps I'm missing something? It seems a bit of a pity for a good painting.

You can delete the photo and start again. One way of perversely correcting this( if you know your iPad will post it wrongly) is to post it uncorrected !!!!! In other words post it upside down then it should correct itself to the right way up. A bit Alice in Wonderland but it does work on occasion.

I always post photos of my paintings from my computer so can correct orientation. However I do wonder whether the images posted side up (not inverted) actually do self-correct. I noticed several of these this morning - evening in the UK, and a quick check now shows they are still sideways up. I remember another lovely painting that was wrongly oriented, and a check a couple of days later showed it had not self-corrected. I was rather tentatively wondering how incompatible with the POL software would it be to introduce an edit function? Deleting and re-posting won't solve the problem for someone uploading from the device that got the orientation wrong in the first place. And I suspect increasingly people will be relying on devices like iPads and tablets rather than computers, where you can correct.
I wonder whether someone much more tech literate than I am would like to explain why some photos on an iPad or tablet come out either sideways or upside down?
