Went and saw Alwyn and June Crawshaw's 'Last Gasp' exhibition yesterday, it is on at the Picturecraft Gallery in Holt, Norfolk. It is a lovely exhibition with watercolours, oils and acrylics in their own inimitable styles. They were both there, chatting to anyone who wanted to chat to them in their usual friendly way. June mostly has slightly quirky titles to her paintings which I commented on, she replied that she liked to paint quirky subjects. I bought a copy of their book, which they both signed, so I now have a keepsake of the paintings I saw too. Alwyn was saying that they are not going to stop painting, after all they are artists, but as they are both in their 70's they are going to wind down and let a few things go - they are downsizing their house, spend more time with the family, etc. They will still exhibit, but no longer in a major way. Alwyn, and June, are so inspirational to many, many people through their books and DVD's and it was a pleasure to see them both and view their exhibition.
