I have a few of them, handy for long journeys on the coach or train. I also take pictures of some images and use then as a pale water mark behind text for tribute pamphlets. Put through a desk top publisher the outline colour can be changed. I like the books they have some beautiful images some are worth buying just to look at.

They're a bit simplistic but if they get people interested in art even at this level then they can't be knocked

I must admit when I first became aware of them I put on my snobby hat and thought "How daft" then a very uncreative friend told me how she thought the were great and yes they seem to be a great way of un arty people enjoying producing something. Who knows they might go a step further and actually discover they can draw. I can see that Carol actually enjoys them and great, but i just don't think they will ever be for me. But I did take my "snobby hat off " .

An arty friend of mine was outraged when someone bought her an adult colouring book for Christmas, she felt that they must have thought colouring in was all she was capable of! I think they're great and have a few, I use a combination of coloured pencils, watercolour and pens and also add drawn images of my own to the original.

Glad to read I'm not on my own. I don't colour the book I print out the images to colour them. That way you can use a different colour pallet. This is one of my favourite images,
