many moons ago Jackie Simmomdspenned an article based on a simple colur wheel of purple, blue, green, yellow, orange and red.in that order.hereafter using the first letter of the colours.Jackie choosesthe following colours for three different thumbnaail paintingd. For a cool and moody picture PB and G. Adding an element of warmth and livelines P B G plus O ( the complement of B ) for the second picture . For the third picture Jackie chooses P R O plus yellow for an intense hot atmosphere, the colour being adjacent to,each other on the colour wheel. Other choices could be G Y O plus P ( comp. of Y) or another...G Y O plus R( all adjacent).. allthis may sound complicated but it is easier if you draw a rough colour wheel. In my opinion it is very interesting in the fact that it uses only six colours which could form a limited palette. i am going to get round to doing some small paintings based on these colour choices and I hope others will have a go at one or two of the colour groups . hope this is not boring......Syd
Well it must be boring even though its quite good taken in small spoonfuls....Syd
