long ago in the fifties it used to be aform of charcoal drawing to spread a charcoal
coating on the whole of a sheet of paper then use an eraser or putty rubber to pick
out the form of what you wished to draw.buildings, animals ,portrates, figures etc
It was a kind of negative drawing and of cource there were no outlines involved and
it saved a lot of blocking in of charcoal to build up form. It was magic how subjects
appeared so quickly and it sopped you fiddling with unnecessesary detail. Try it if you
havent ,its fun to do. Syd :-)
