Hi all. You may have seen my most recent painting posted yesterday - a commission for a friend which I am in the middle of.

What I would like is some input on what to charge - I know it's a tough one but some ideas would be appreciated
I am keeping a log of cost and time spent sketching painting etc. My first thought was to add the costs (canvas, photo printing etc) to an hourly rate - but what rate?
As it stand when I did a calculation today my costs were £31 and if I charge £3 per hour (less than the minimum wage by the way!) the cost wuld be £139.Right or wrong we discussed price at the begining and my customer suggested we see how much work I needed to do first - good idea - but now I don't know even a ball park figure he is expecting to pay.
P.S. he's seen the progress today and smiled "awesome" (He's a kiwi) he loves it - which is great news
:D
