So I'm sitting with a glass of wine, enjoying the garden after a day's graft, then the blackbird serenades...an important ingredient for the magic moment.  Even if there are clouds, so there's no sunset to speak of. It's pleasant and soothing. I watch the self seeded ash two doors sway against the sky.  The top most branches are this year's growth.  They are swaying in the breeze. Side to side, crossing and uncrossing. . How do you capture this dance of the tree top in paint? Is this what inspired the impressionists?

That sounds like a beautiful moment Norette - I’ve had similar ones myself. I often paint “ in my head”….everything seems to work out…..😀
I say give it a go Norrette, I'm sure it will be lovely.
You’ve summed up what art is all about Norrette.  We all have those moments when we can forget the pressing needs of real life and take simple pleasure  in the things around us.  We can only try to put it on paper…aye, there’s the rub (as some bloke said).
Big paper , big brush and a tad of splat and another bottle of wine.
Honest, they were really swaying and dancing, Sylvia. Not just the effect of the wine! :) I think Hockney tried to represent movement when he messed about with multiple photos in the...90s? Then again with the videos he did about 10 years ago.

The thing about your magic moment Norrette, is that it has now passed! You needed to grab the paints and get going then. Have some ready for the next evening, bottle of wine etc… We will watch this space. 😉
