I've just watched all three episodes of this excellent BBC series, British Masters. What surprises me is how avant-garde British painters have been. I've seen the TV programme which you mentioned, it was good. There were lots of inventive painters in the UK during the period covered by the programme (early 20th century). Just wish I'd known about this series. What channel was it on and do you know if it will be repeated? There were some exiting British painters around in the first half of the 20th Century. As there are now of course.

(Why aren't line breaks inserted automatically?) Peter, this was broadcasted on BBC HD: "BBC HD was a high-definition television channel provided by the BBC. The service was initially run as a trial from 15 May 2006 until becoming a full service on 1 December 2007 before closing on 26 March 2013." You should be able to watch it on your computer. /Mats

Thanks, but I doubt it will work on my computer as I live in the country and we are afflicted by Mr Cameron's SuperSlow Broadband. I have to wait and make a cup of tea if I want to open the gallery on here, running video or film is a complete non-starter. We have a wry chuckle when we heart politicians spouting about how essential modern technology has been rolled out country wide.

Peter, you could always download the YouTube videos and watch offline. There are different ways of downloading (search "download youtube"). /Mats
