Personally I feel it a bit disrespectful to Robert to constantly snipe and provoke reaction, yet calling a moron a moron and a clown a clown seems the only appropriate reaction to what is not a reasonable discussion but a unnecessary and prolonged bitterness on the part of people who should be old enough to know better and wise enough to not get involved if they have nothing constructive to say.
I know this is a clique, Sylvia will be rude, and when I react Sid or Marjorie will chime in... it is a good technique to reduce the interactions on the forum to nil, any sensible person knowing that any post will lead to negativity or snobishness because some people can't learn from a book or think the only appropriate way to do things is as in their childhood of the 1930's.
I will maintain my position that if you want to be rude I will be rude back, if you chose your words more carefully I will reciprocate. I made this post on books, if you don't like books why even read the thread? If you can't see the value in learning techniques to draw accurately the fault lays only with your lack of perspicacity, and just because more than one of you wishes to gang up doesn't phase me or make truth less valuable.

Well, you've said it. I am not going to play delete the damn' post every time someone says something I think unnecessary, but I hoped to draw a line under this.
I will leave it, but I do not think it helpful, nor, I'm afraid, do I think you're trying to be. I am extremely disappointed, frankly.

The line of good and evil doesn't run between people but through every individuals heart and I realize you the epitome of a real Jeckll and Hyde, that you somehow delude yourself into thinking I am in any way vindictive shows how far you have lost it. I would have thought that someone your age would be self aware enough to realise that they sow the seeds of what they receive. If you are rude it comes back at you, if you lack empathy others are unsympathetic and if you are merely blinded to your own shortcomings you accuse others of the flaws you exhibit. Learning to play well with others ensures you are welcomed back to the games, those that can't are unwelcome and find eventually they have nobody to play with.
I guess the psychology of why you would behave as you have is complex and I am no shrink but I am sure there will be a sigh of relief at your departure, maybe if you come to your senses and act like a sensitive and respectful human being with a shred of humility you would have valuable experience to offer, which would be gratefully received... unfortunate that this has been sidelined by petty spitefulness. Good luck, I hope the better side of your nature is victorious.

In this case, Syd, I think it's probably an example of better out than in.
This was a thread about books, to start with: peaceful things, books, I thought: one of life's consolations. What could go wrong?
It took so little time to find out - three people here are on totally different wavelengths for reasons I haven't the time, nor the inclination given I've always been a bit careful about the libel courts, to explore. It should never have developed this way, and wouldn't have done if people had bitten their tongues and counted to ten - that's TO ten, not down from ten before setting the rocket off.
But enough is enough now.
