Well our Collaborator and Rogue books are almost coming to an end after a year of creative effort by twelve artists . David Perry, Amanda Bates and myself are just three of the artists.
Some of the work from every participant is just wonderful. My book arrives in the post every month and I can't wait to get the wrappings off and see all the new contributions.
In case you think im spouting a load of nonsense and haven't seen my earlier posts, twelve of us have each had an identical sketch book and we have each chosen a theme. The book is sent onwards and outwards when each theme is completed. So my " Drama" goes off and that recipient does their own take on "Drama" I receive a new book and continue the theme of that book.
It has been a great way of thinking out side of the box and enjoying other peoples efforts.
Now we hopefully will have a book printed from chosen work from each book.
So can I pick brains please.
Last year I used Apple and had their soft cover book A4 Landscape.
I have used Apple before and had good results but do not like the soft cover, it looks a bit cheap. Its also one of the more expensive ways of printing a book.
We shall have approx 30 / 40 pictures with some descriptive text . Have any of you used anyone other than Apple and if so what are your thoughts? .
I really would appreciate thoughts and experience.
Also hopefully we shall be having an exhibition of our work in a fairly prestigious gallery though that will be at least a year away. I am asking for the artists to do some larger works from the sketch book prototype.
Aint life exciting when you are having fun ?

Well I did think either you or I were have a 'senior moment' Sylvia but it now becomes foggily clear. What a great idea, rather like a 'round robin'. As to such technical questions, I shall leave that in the hands of someone else who has technical leanings, which is definitely not me. A lovely thing to look forward to - good luck, hope it all comes together.

That is such a lovely project Sylvia, what fun. As for self publishing I've used blurb quite a few times. It is very user friendly but the books themselves are quite expensive to buy. I don't know of anywhere else online but I'd be interested to hear of a cheaper alternative if anyone else has one.
