This month's excitement of seeing the latest issues of The Artist and Leisure Painter published is tinged with sadness as we say goodbye to Sally Bulgin who, after almost 40 years as editor of The Artist, is hanging up her editorial hat. We're pleased to announce that the magazine continues to be in good hands as Jane Stroud, who you’ll know as contributing editor to both magazines, takes over as editor. In more good news, we are extremely happy that Sally will be continuing in her role as judge for our annual TALP Open Art Competitions and that The Artist Showcase Award (new for 2024) winner will be interviewed by Sally for their showcase feature in the magazine later this year. You can see Sally’s final ed’s welcome in the June issue of the magazine, out now, and look out for news of our TALP Open award-winners on July 11th, the opening day of this year’s exhibitions at Patchings Art Centre.
I can imagine there’s a feeling of sadness but Sally will still be around. Best wishes to her and to Jane, who takes on the mantle.
Change is always exciting, best wishes to both Sally and Jane in their new ventures.
