What's the best medium for drawing or painting portraits? I do landscapes in watercolour, However, with portraits I find that I need to adopt a sort of iterative process, where what I put down gets removed and restated, sometimes over and over again.
This works ok with a nice 6B pencil on cartridge paper, but is impossible with w/c. What's the best medium for making portraits?
