I popped a sketch into the gallery this morning. An enjoyable challenge
Had a look and a comment Alan. Well done for rising to the challenge.
Just put a pic on the gallery re the Ballet Challenge( who challenged anyhow) I didnt use any photographs for this, either mine of anyone else. It is a pic for a project David and Amanda are part of the project...as usual I have added my sticky glitter.....what did you call it Michael?
Sylvia, I think it may have been me originally. The chap you are thinking of is Glicky Stitter - he lives in Gnome End, Gnomesville - it's called Gnome End as it's a bit run down having never been maintained or repaired.
Just had a dekko at that link that Tony Palmer originally provided and thought I had lost the plot. The third photo under the date 15th July had the two dancers with a multitude of legs. Have spent some time trying to find who they all belong to! Aren't I the silly one!
Thanks for the link, Tony. There are masses of ballet stances here! Just what I wanted. Many thanks.
Thanks for the link, Tony, I don't chose to paint the human form very often but the photo's of, Bernice Coppieters, is quite surreal and inspiring, one for the black paper and coloursoft pencils.

Thanks for posting this - If I ever want a pic a ballet dancer, I might take another look and use a part, but never the whole. It is not just copyright -I think it demonstrates though that, whatever makes a good photo, does not necessarily make a good painting. This is a subject we could discuss ad infinitum. Where photos show the extraordinary, a painter would often be accused of getting it wrong.
