Thank you every one for suggestions, yes I saw that you had made an attempt Marjorie. It seems a bit daft to just post in French when its so obvious that its a very English site. I probably won't bother making contact he seems not to want to. But we can still enjoy his lovely paintings.

However, rather than write nothing at a all, I think that we should write in English for our French speaking friend, as this is a predominantly English speaking site. It's then up to him to get it translated.

I fully understand the frustration Syd at what could be seen as bad manners. However it could be that the enquirer is unable to access the site during long periods due to work commitments etc. Also others benefit from the responses so please don't stop giving us the benefit of your vast and witty wisdom Syd - we all love to read your posts.

For me what they are all about is irrelevant and something that never crosses my mind. I do like his work and the more surreal the better - just like abstract work it's the use of shapes, images and their interplay with the palette adopted that makes them interesting, exciting even - gosh I'm beginning to sound all arty farty!
