Can anyone tell me how paintings get into the Top Gallery? Is it by number of views, comments, artistic ability or just luck of the draw? Just curious really and would like to know. Thanks in advance ;-) Donna
When they're mine, it's because they were just brilliant. When it's anyone else, it's just the luck of the draw. Or in short, I haven't a clue. http://www.isleofwightlandscapes.net http://www.wightpaint.blogspot.co.uk
I thought it was down to the choice of the staff - I doubt if it's random as some genres aren't reflected at all well. I can think of at least one contributor whose work was both prolific and popular but never got a picture in the top gallery. After complaining about it in the forum the contributor has since stopped posting altogether.
I always thought it was down to the preferences of the staff too. It's often the same pictures that are re-posted on Twitter / Facebook. Kay Marriott
Hi All, There is a very small selection of the latest images added to the gallery from which I select a few each day (when I am working that is) to appear on the home page of the site and in the top bar of the gallery. Not all images will fit the square format which limits the choice further. So I am afraid it is a bit of personal selection and a bit of pot luck as to which images are the latest to be added to the site, and fit the boxes, when I arrive at 9am! Dawn
Swear away Sylvia - I won't understand you and it will sound great I am sure!
I could ask my wife - she's from Burma and I'm sure even I wouldn't understand
I've tried to make an effort with our Algerian friend, bar apart from platitudes like, bon, jollie, I can't sat very much. I feel that he should really be encouraged as he must be quite brave to do figurative paintings in an Arab/muslim country. Haven't we got any French speakers here?
by the way, I can swear in Welsh too, but i can't spell it!
I can spell it - i t
🙂
I obviously can't spell "say" either.
