I have been trawling many artists websites lately and reading some of the artist statements i have felt that many are using the kind of vocabulary that would suit a brain surgeon, or nuclear scientist, and some of these painters are quite figurative, so i am surprised as the paintings are class and speak for themselves, is this pressure from galleries to intellectualise what we do? I feel now if i was asked to write one i would be so self conscious that i didn`t want to sound pretentious or arty that i could only write "these are my paintings, hope you like them" (lol) (lol) (lol)
