I am wondering what people do with their art magazines once they have read them.
I currently subscribe to four magazines; two British and two Australian. I store them in magazine holders that I buy cheaply at an office supply store, but it always bothers me that they contain heaps of information that is incredibly useful, but that I have forgotten all about.
Pondered this for a while, then came up with the following system: as I am reading the magazine I mark bits that strike me as particularly useful, usually by just folding down a corner of the page. Then, before I file the magazine away, I note the things I want to remember or refer to again in a notebook, quite often with a comment about what it is that appeals to me, what I might use it for later, etc. Every now and again I read through the notebook and it's truly amazing what a rich source of inspiration and assistance it is becoming.
I'd love to hear about any other ideas.
