Hi All, I am launching a new art commissioning platform that makes it easy for individuals and businesses to commission unique art from you guys. It's about high-quality work and we are NOT a race to the bottom like sites like Fiveer, its the opposite of that. Our processes mean commissions are always a smooth process, that is safe and easy to implement. Our Code of Conduct and Dispute Resolution Service ensures that systems are in place in case things don't go according to plan. We are also a Social Enterprise, this means we give 51% of our profits to benefit society. The issue is most people don't seem to know what a Social Enterprise is so we are thinking of just giving 51% of our profits to all the Artisans who are registered with us and who take our commissions. Most of these need support in any case. Could we get some feedback in terms of what you guys think would be better? Just seen this. Why is it new offerings fail to make their costs up-front, as Alan says? Pricing at all stages of the "deal" must be clearly accessible for potential artists/crafters to make a decision. The idea of "contact us" if you're interested isn't good enough. If I see an online gallery with no easily visible pricing structure I dismiss it. Annual membership fees, monthly costs, commission percentages, it all adds up. I'm in a rush this morning so havent got time to look at it more closely, maybe these details have now been added but I didnt spot them.

The Companies House website shows that Commission it Ltd was incorporated as 'Woollyeyes Ltd' in 2010 and has been dormant ever since (at least up until the last accounts to October 2017). It has only £1 of share capital and therefore no substance and clearly no track record.

Thanks for that detail. Woollyeyes, haha very appropriate, pulling wool over people's eyes, there's a lot of that going on right now. It's such a shame really that there aren't more good online opportunities available for artist people. I use one online gallery that I do trust, and they do pay me when I sell. But I've seen numerous others rise and fall; I'm no expert on such things but they need sustainable (aargh!) business models.
