Aivazovsky (1817–1900) was a outstanding Russian seascape artist. He used Realistic element in his works but also remained faithful to Romanticism. His best works in the 1840s-1850s used all sorts of colors and were both romantic and epic. He created around 6,000 paintings in 60 years which makes him one of the most prolific artists of his time. Seascape was the main theme in the vast majority of his works, but he often depicted battle scenes, Armenian themes, and portraiture. Most of Aivazovsky's works are kept in Russian,Ukrainian and Armenian museums as well as private collections. The Ninth Wave is considered Aivazovsky's most famous work. Below are some other paintings. I love these paintings at the first sight, hope you can enjoy them.
Pure 19th century Romanticism. Nothing wrong with that. What about you, eveforpainying? What's your name in the Gallery here, so we can go look at your original work.
Very dramatic and great impact. I have seen some of his work previously but not those you have posted. Thanks.
Lovely and dramatic. As Alan says, let us know who you are please.
They are wonderful, thanks for showing us. What about your own paintings?
