Replying to my own post...What for instance does &NBSP stand for? I think that is what it is, but I can't find my way back to the comment which i last posted about Syd's painting, and into which it had been inserted a good number of times....but not by myself in the original comment. Am I losing my marbles? If so, does anyone out there have any to sell? i do favour the grey ones with a blue crescent moon across them.....

You must be determined to get an answer to this one, Ruth, given you've asked the question in several different places - wish I could answer it.....
It might help a bit though if we knew what you're using to post comments -Ipad, phone, desktop pc? They all have different ways of formatting text, it would appear - and what's visible to you may not be visible to me, because I've read all your posts and not found an 'nspb' in any of 'em. I have come across it before, though - on this site and others, but haven't observed it for some time. Google it - I know I did that, and found the answer.
And guess what?
I've totally forgotten it.......
If you're losing your marbles, you're not alone. Lord knows what VRAU stands for .... Nbsp or whatever it is isn't an acronym, it's a formatting mark - that much I remember.

Well, here it is. NBSP means 'non-breaking space'. This article explains it. And I didn't understand a single word of a single sentence in it, because what it doesn't seem to tell you - my eyes glazed over and I fell off my chair before finishing it, so I can't be sure - is why some applications insert it automatically without your knowing or intending it.
Now, Dawn - our technical expert - might know. So (laughs wickedly, titters with malice) over to you, Dawn! Why, tell us do, does it happen?

Syd and Robert....Thank you for attempting to help, but I'm actually no further on in cracking the problem. I seem to be in a few fogs at the moment (Now when was I ever not?) Syd, I haven't edited any of my posts yet as far as I can recall, on this 'new' site. My 'replies to myself' have been as you say, not replies but addendums as further thoughts occur to me. I have emailed Dawn asking her also to replace my forum photo with a clearer one which I have sent to her. Hopefully she can do that.I was certainly in a fog in the first one. I had to look closely at it again to make certain I was a female before replying to the Acrylics post! The acronym, Robert, I made my own version of but it is unprintable and being a Lady as well as a Female, I will abstain from doing so. Heigh -ho and all that!
