Lovely to read about your day out Lewis, it's so lovely to look at masterpieces in the flesh as it were. It's made me want to visit London! Nice to see the Joseph Wright painting too, as a Derby born girl! Tell your son there is a whole gallery of his work at Derby Museum and Art Gallery if he is ever in the area! Great photos too - a really lovely read.

Sounds like a grand day out, Lewis. Well done for managing more than one gallery, that can be exhausting. I'm lucky enough to live a tube ride away, although it's an hour journey, so I tend to do only one at a time. I could also give a shout out for the Bankside Watercolour gallery, tucked away close to Tate Modern. Small but very interesting.

Sounds like a grand day out Lewis. It’s always a thrill seen a major painting in the flesh. I haven’t been near a major gallery in years, but we are planning a trip to Birmingham soon and there are some great pre-raphaelite paintings in the art gallery there.

So many great galleries to see. I was lucky to manage two in my day out, fortunately the Courtauld moved to its present location since my time back in the 1960's...far more convenient for my old codger's legs. There's always the buses and the tube of course. I find the tube a bit of a mixed blessing, sometimes by the time you've walked down all those corridors to get to the platform it feels it might have been quicker to walk. The buses are a better bet, it just requires a bit of planning. That's why I enjoyed my day, two galleries within walking distance...even for me.
