Topic removed

I've removed a topic this morning, because it degenerated into personal abuse.  One person's rudeness is another's curiosity; and there are ways of expressing a rebuke without making it a personal attack. Social media can be a blessing or a curse, depending on how we use it - we've managed astonishingly well on POL, given my experience of other social media sites, to avoid hacking away at each other in anger and frustration: for the enjoyment of all, let us keep it that way.   Do be aware by the way that I'm sure Dawn and other staff keep an eye on contributors, as do I, and any sustained course of inappropriate conduct will not escape attention and will be dealt with.  Sometimes it'll look as though we're letting things slip, because we're just lovably generous - or indulgent to new members: or highly regarded older ones.  (Remembering at this point Syd Edward's explosive riposte of "Idiot!  Buffoon!" in one case  ... we let it go, though private words were had.) I for one have a much better memory than I sometimes pretend - and Dawn has the judgement of the Angel Gabriel.  We'll put a stop to obstructive or useless posts, but the benefit of the doubt is a valuable thing, and to be preserved until there's no doubt left to give benefit to....

Oh, Bloodaxe - so well named! Both would expostulate, but I never felt there was malice there: if we can avoid that, we're doing well.
