This is something of a rebuke to those who say they've "moved on" from watercolour because you can't get the deep, powerful colours that can be achieved in oil and acrylic. Well - maybe you can't, but this painter can! There is presumably a good deal of layering here, but somehow the artist keeps the colour as clean as jewels.

Not this weekend but next - after the local school term starts - Titchfield, in the south of Hampshire, is the venue for the 40th annual local art and craft show ( http://titchfieldartandcraft.co.uk/ ). It was a completely open exhibition and I just squeezed in under the deadline with my entries.
I'm in the north of Hampshire, so it isn't too far away (although it's a big county); sadly, I can't make the open evening, but I hope to attend on Sunday.
Anyone else exhibiting or close enough to potter along?
(It could be a test of the veracity of my multiple self portraits if any of you lovely people are there at the same time as me.)
