There's a wonderful collection of paintings by the Staithes Group being exhibited now at Pannett Art Gallery, Whitby but it finishes next sunday I believe so you'll have to hurry if interested.
The Staithes group painted in and around the North Yokshire coastal village of Staithes at the turn of the last century, probably the best known artist being Dame Laura Knight. Other artists in the group included Roland Hill, Joseph Bagshawe, Fred Jackson, William Frederick Mayor, Harold Knight and Mark Senior.
Well worth a visit and they're for sale too if you have a few thousand to spare.
