I wondered if anyone has made it to see the Sargent watercolour exhibition yet at the Dulwich Picture Gallery?
I'm so excited to see it for myself, but will have to wait until the end of September.
A few years back I was fortunate to see a big exhibition of his Venetian watercolours in Venice, inspirational. This exhibition has a variety of subject matter and places, and some of my all-time favourites are there.
There's a really nice video walkthrough of the exhibition on their website with Lachlan Goudie talking about some of the works on show.

It was special wasn't it Marjorie? I bought the catalogue that went with the show but as it's in Italian I could only admire the pictures!
Looking forward to seeing a more diverse range of subjects in this exhibition.
October is my favourite time of year for Venice Peter, lucky you! Will you be painting? :-)

Yes that's different Peter... it must also be an enjoyable holiday for your wife! The last few times I've been to Venice have been with artist friends, and we indulge ourselves painting during all the available daylight hours and then get together to eat in the evenings... it works so well that way! Mind you, sometimes there's additional nocturne painting too... definitely burn the candle at both ends when I'm away on a painting trip ;-)
