Such a lovely day on Sunday, this house is "upside down" well not literally , we live upstairs, this way we can enjoy the view. This is "almost" the view from my kitchen, I have eliminated a few trees , and addes a stone wall instead of a stock proof post and wire...but the hills really are there. There should also be a a few baaing sheep and lambs. Well the good news is that you've sold the paintings; the bad news is that your marketing was a touch over generous to the punter. I suggest you bear the loss for now, or rather the negligible profit, but bump your prices up or at least make it clear the p & p is extra, just as soon as you can. You've broken the ice, after all - regard this as speculating now to accumulate later. <div>
</div><div>I imagine there ARE couriers with whom you could negotiate a deal - try talking to a gallery, who may have overcome similar problems, or other artists? - but the fact is that canvases are bulky objects that need to be properly packed, this IS fairly expensive, and you can't really cut corners. </div><div>
</div><div>I suppose you can't combine a week's break in the UK with bringing your canvases over here yourself and delivering them personally? At least you'd be getting something out of it that way, even if it's only a few days away from the treadmill....</div><div>

The biggest danger is puncturing the canvas, if it was me I'd back the back of the frame with a lightweight filler something like polystyrene tiles then cover both sides with some mountboard. you then effectively have a box structure. Wrap that in strong paper. Shouldn't then weigh to much and keep cost down.
