C'mon c'mon c'mon ..... nearly half past two, and nobody's tried to guess yet....<div> </div><div>Disappointed in you all.  I'll give you a better one, this time attributed to my late friend Edward Upward: &quot; You may never be published; but you certainly won't be if you never submit anything.&quot;</div>
How about...... "Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in one pretty and well preserved piece, but to skid across the line broadside, thoroughly used up, worn out, leaking oil, shouting GERONIMO!" attributed to Hunter S Thompson, I believe. or.......... "Flatter me, and I may not believe you. Criticize me, and I may not like you. Ignore me, and I may not forgive you. Encourage me, and I will not forget you." ~William Arthur Ward :D :D :D
My guess would be Adolf Hitler in his book "Mein Kampf" which I believe is My Struggle. As an aside he wasn't a bad watercolourist, shame he didn't stick to that instead of delusions of granduer.
This has nothing to do with art...Or has it? Paul Gallico wrote.. . "Query" LIttle chipmunk, Why do you hang upside down? Or is it you Who are right side up, And I who am standing on my head? (Taken from his book "Honourable Cat")
Paul Gallico also wrote... Short Poem Descriptive of Someone in a Hurry With Something Important on His Mind "Gangway!"
" Listen to the colour of your dreams" The Beatles Sounds like John.
An amusing warning here to those who take themselves and their art too too intensely... "A kitten a kattern, a dirty cat's a slattern. A lick here A lick there, I can't reach my tail end But does it really matter?" By ............guess who, for the next toffee apple??
Ruth - I don't know.... unless it was penned by one R Dolan.  You have stumped me, and I must forego the toffee apple. <div> </div><div>Now, do YOU know where the line &quot;Nearer and nearer to dear Little Vera the terrible terror trod&quot; comes from?  Because I don't ....</div>
I have no idea; however, it has the feel of T S Eliott, somewhat in scan with McCavity.bestMick
ARTISTS WANTED! GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR TALENTED ARTISTS I am currently working on a business to sell art in a new way that benefits the artist and allows his or her work to get the exposure it deserves and sell a lot faster. The business is in the very early stages of development however I am on the search for talented artists that are serious about their art. You do not have to be a well known artist, but you must have raw talent and be a committed artist. By that I mean, someone who is producing art all the time and is in it for the long run as opposed to someone who will pack it all in after a few projects. I am looking for 10 artists to start off with. These 10 artists will receive great incentives when I am up and running. I will select the art of artist that I think has what it takes. It does not matter what kind of art you do. All I ask is 5 examples of your work. They do not have to be high resolution pics and I do not mind if they have a watermark on them for your protection. A detail pic of an area would also help. You can also direct me to your website. Tell me about yourself and where you are based. Some of the benefits that I want to have in place for artists: • Free to submit your work on my website • No subscription fee • No hidden fees • A very low commission fee (when you sell your work) This will be no more than 25% (could be lower) • An online auction of your work (just place your reserve price) • Online auction means you generate interest in your work and hopefully sell it. If it does not sell it goes onto the website as a ‘buy now’ • You (the artist) post the artwork work in a professional manner. • I will be looking for more ways to help the artist to sell/promote his/her work Let me point out that I am also an artist and therefore I know how difficult it is to get away from the ‘starving artist’ stereotype. I have decided to develop business that will make it easier to sell your work at a faster pace. I will also have my own work on the website! Please send me examples of your work. I need to build up my 10 artists. You do not have anything to lose. All the selected artists will have to do is take quality pictures of their work and place them on the website together with their profile and description of their work. I look forward to hearing from you! Please email me [email protected]
