With the pandemic causing the cancellation or postponement of most exhibitions this year I suspect that, like many, I am building a stock of finished work without any outlet. I have submitted to only one exhibition so far this year, our local club exhibition which ran at the start of this month and was very successful with £4,200.00 of sales. I submitted six works and sold two so another four in 'stock'. Am getting flak from the boss about the number of paintings stacking up with no prospect at present for any further outlets. Maybe November 5th or Christmas might offer solutions?!
Perhaps you need to find a suitable online outlet for your target market. Have you done any kind Of analysis of what you sell most of?
Seascapes have always been my best sellers but after many years of them I'm enjoying doing more abstract(ish) works. Not good at 'online' so doubt I will be pursuing websites etc.
I’ve recently built a website, Peter. And I’ve also got a few of my paintings on selling websites. If I can do it, anyone can. It’s not as daunting as you think, just take your time. My website is powered by Jackson’s. It’s worth having a look, it’s not too difficult to follow and the domain cost is reasonable. I’m missing art/craft fairs, where I sold a lot of my work.  Ellen
Building a website on weebly.com is free.  There are simple directions.  If you want to loose “weebly” from the address then there is a charge of about 30 dollars a year.  You can sell prints from fineartamerica.com free for the first 30 images, without getting your hands dirty or even going to the post office.  Customers can buy them framed And mounted as they desire.
