Fooling around with some of my old photos of the Dales, may be some of Somerset/Devon in the mix, too:-)https://www.painters-online.co.uk/Gallery/Mick-Saunders-Dales-Lane/_ga73722_pg1BestMick

Yep, it happens all the time, I pick up a pastel or mix a fresh colour, turn back to the painting - why have I got this nice mix of oil Naples yellow and French ultramarine, hanging off my brush, or why do I have this yellow ochre, tint one pastel in my hand. I deal with it by guessing an appropriate, or not, place for the colour to go, and then just firing in with it.bestMick

So do I; but I'm never quite sure if that's what I intended to do in the first place..... <div>
</div><div>Maybe it's like touch-typing: if I were more disciplined, and laid my colours out in a pre-determined fashion (which, to be honest, I don't) I'd just dip the brush in the right colour and apply it without looking away from the canvas. </div><div>
</div><div>And on the other hand - I bet I'd miss the mix I'd been aiming for.......</div>
