I am a member of a locall art society in Broughty Ferry and we had an exhibition recently.if my memory serves me correctly 250 pictures were hung and only 40 sold including one or two by professional artists.the standard of work was on the whole very good barring the mediocre few . Everyone gets their picture hung to Encourage the budding artist to persevere and hopefully improve.I put in two acrylics and was in the majority who took pictures home again as loft insulation. I usually sell one or two at attractive prices but to no avail. Is anybody else feeling that people are not buying art inthe present economic climate or wasit too sunny that week of the exhibition??
