Because my mother was a "Haute Couture Dressmaker", we had all the French Fashion Magazines at home and the most expensive fabrics. I grew up with ladies ordering unique dresses made in pure silk, etc... Since I was a little girl (that is a LONG time ago!!!), my dream was to become a fashion designer. The start to those studies (at that time) was going to Art School (the nearest one in Bruges, so I could stay living at home) and then the Antwerp Academy of Art. Because money was short, I had to stop after 5 years in Bruges and then I became an Art Teacher. I have no regrets (never had) because those years in Bruges where very, very pleasant and we had lovely teachers. One of our subjects was "Fashion/Costume History" and we had to make a fantasy design of costumes of all times and countries. Luckely, having lovely memories about those designs, I kept some of them. Yesterday, I posted one and I would be very happy if you would have a look and maybe post a comment. I am planning to post some of the others in the coming weeks (not minutes!!!!! LOL) ;-) Mia http://www.painters-online.co.uk/gallery/picture.asp?id=58738
