I photographed this bird on the glove of an RSPB lady at the Gordale Centre on the Wirral, ( the snow of course is artistic license!) where the National Wildlife Paintings Exhibition was held...Wonderful work was on display!
I am fully aware of the need for the protection and preservation of these and other wonderful birds.....But it pains me to see the leather thongs which tie them to the earth, because to me they are divine creatures (NOT , NOT, NOT, talking 'religion' here, but Humanity, please note!!)
I have not made a very good job of the painting...the focus for me was the inscrutable stare of the bird, which seemed infinitely sad....I'm far too soft , I know some would say, ...
I appreciate any comments, but am more concerned to raise awareness for the need for our recognition and responsibility for all forms of life as.......what?.... 'Superior?' (I wonder?) beings. Here endeth.....and please take a look...
