as an after thought when I buy a paint. I want some guts in it ,if it was transparent out the tube I would bin it I want to be able to make it transparent with water myself
My lot of W&N Raw Sienna is transparent, tried some DR stuff a few years back and it seemed a totally different colour, didn't like it at all.
The original post to this thread highlighted the new silver artists watercolour tubes and lack of response from W+N. I chipped in later with a different problem, but same lack of response. Having crticised W+N in this thread, I thought it only fair to say that they have since resolved the situation. I bought a small 5ml tube (one of the new silver ones) of Artists watercolour to try and found it to be extremely opaque when it was supposed to be transparent. I emailed them twice, but never got a reply. Robert Jones kindly pointed out that I had probably emailed the wrong W+N office, so I tried again. This time they responded straight away and asked me to return the tube so they could test it. Today I received a very generous 37ml tube (one of the old style white ones) as a replacement.....which is as transparent as I expected the first tube to be.
If you run short of cobalt blue ultrmarine and manganese blue make a lovely cobalt blue ..no maganese then use .,,ceruleanblue
