A while ago, Robert Jones posted one of his earlier works. This gave me the idea to open a new "Archive Portfolio" with drawings and paintings I made during my studies at Art-Teaching School in Bruges in the 60s.
In the coming weeks I plan to post some of those works that I kept in a special cupboard because I was rather pleased with them.
Thanks for having a look at the first one and maybe post a comment on it there:

It is called "For Denise" and looking at it, I think you will understand why.

One exercise that is worth trying and is good fun is sitting in front of the TV with a sketch book watching a discussion programme that keeps returning to the same faces so you can build up drawings over a long period. Question Time is excellent for this and helps you ignore the drivelling party line answers.

Why not sit yourself in front of a mirror and draw/ paint what you see. Copying from mags or photographs will always give a stilted , dead image. . Sit on a bus or in a public place with a small sketch book and pencil and draw what is in front of you . Or join a class with a real model and some tuition.
