Robert Jones asked in another thread about pencil sharpeners. I am working with coloured pencils mainly at the moment and have recently bought a battery operated one from Lidl for less than £4. So far this is working extremely well, beautiful sharp points and no breakage. It has 2 holes, one for larger pencils such as Coloursoft. I also very kindly had a helical manual sharpener sent to me from a member of the UKCP Society. This is made by the same company called United Office. It is like the ones that were attached to teachers desk which we used at school. I like this but obviously it is more hands on which takes more time. At the moment I prefer the battery one as it takes less time to sharpen, however I am not sure how long the blades will last on this one. They were both less than £4 so very economical. The only drawback is that they don't hold them in stock, so you have to be aware when they have them in. I subscribed to their newsletter via email and this tells you when they have art stuff in store.
