Paper for Coloured Pencils

<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt">I have started a new thread for this enquiry as the information I have requested differs from that in Jools thread.  It is about paper but for a different purpose. <p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt"><p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt"><p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt">The current issue of Artists and Illustrators has a practical technique article by Janie Pirie on botanical illustration.  She explains some very useful techniques on how to go about producing illustrations using coloured pencils but the one thing missing is some guidance on what papers to use.  It would be most helpful to know what types of papers can give satisfactory results.  I have tried a number of times to get down on to paper the very fine detail that is necessary consistent with good colour representation, but always without success.  It would seem that the ideal would be a paper that appears to be smooth and therefore capable of fine detail but has a very fine tooth to take the colour off of the coloured pencil.  Hahnemuhle Fine Art, hot pressed 300gsm is too rough.  Daler Rowney  Heavy Weight is also too rough and the Fine Grain version is too smooth to take the colour.  I am using Faber-Castell Polychromos  coloured pencils, the same as those used by Janie Pirie.<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt"><p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt">Any help, suggestions or guidance from anyone with experience would be appreciated.
