The above book has just been delivered by the postman. I bought it online for 1p, which must rate as the best value since the family's flights from Liverpool to Pisa some year ago which also cost 1p each. In the introduction he states: "In this book the author makes no concession to the popular"how to do it" approach to drawing, neither does he offer any easy solutions, he believes students in particular should allow themselves to be ruled by what they see- so their drawings bear the imprint of observation, rather than adopting an easy formula for producing images which are in some ways striking"
A man after my own heart, I think I shall enjoy reading this.
